FULL DESCRIPTIONS:

Our company is looking for the qualified Forestry Planner to start working urgently.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have Matric / Grade 12
Having tertiary qualification in GIS, Geography, Cartography or Surveying will be advantageous
Must have 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To process, analyse and model GIS data for Forestry applications
To ensure ongoing quality assurance, maintenance and distribution of spatial data
To provide support to end-users by generating maps, GIS reports and information products
To compile and organise GIS data from maps, databases and other sources
To convert mapping resources and data into usable formats
To perform quality control on data collection projects
To handle general enquiries and market GIS products to clients
To produce high-quality maps for various purposes
Digitise data from aerial photography and satellite imagery as needed
To collect field data to support analysis and decision-making
To maintain and monitor timber delivery traceability records, ensuring accurate tracking from plantation to final destination in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
